Our driver was amazing considering the roads. We passed through Bakhtapur and this kid on a bike turned right into the car. The driver jammed on the brakes but did hit the bike and the kid fell off. I don't think we hit the boy. You will see from our photos that traffic here is chaotic with no apparent rules. As Samantha said, there are a lot of people walking with limps here.
Honestly, I kind of glad we did it in the dark because I really didn't want to see the lack of barriers. It was a relief to get to the hotel.
We set our clock for 5:00 am and then woke up at 4:00. Nagarkot faces the Himalaya range of mountains with Everest, looking small off in the distance. All of the rooms face towards the range.
This morning it is a bit hazy but still spectacular as the various hills, terraced fields and houses in the valley below. I'll post pictures but they don't do it justice.
Not sure if the haze is going to burn off today to get better shots or not. David has headed off for a hike with Sam while Suzanne and me are sitting on our balconies listening to the birds and relaxing.
Later, a stroll to see if we can find the rhododendrons that are supposed to be blooming now.
Hi Barb - Enjoying all the details of your trip & photos. Wish I was there enjoying the view! Tracy
